¡Hola! My name is Abel Ramos, and I’m an Official Tourism Guide and Sommelier based in Madrid, Spain, where I was born and raised.
Once I finished my Tourism Management degree at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, I couldn’t wait to discover the world. I started working as a tour leader throughout Europe during the high season. I backpacked all over the world during the rest of the year. This passion for traveling has taken me to more than 50 countries of all latitudes so far, of which I keep undeletable memories. A decade ago, I obtained my Official Guide license and started guiding and sharing the wealthy historical and artistic heritage of Madrid and Spain's central part.
Meanwhile, I took the opportunity to quench my thirst for learning more about my other great passion: wine. I studied an Advanced Wine Selling and Marketing Course at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid. Also, I completed the Wines and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) levels 2 and 3 certificates with distinction in the Ribera del Duero region. But there is always a lot more to learn in this immense world of wines. So, currently, I am preparing for the Spanish Wine Scholar certificate.
This “cross-training” has allowed me to blend my two passions and share them with visitors from all over the world with fun but educational tours and experiences. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and conversational in French.
